As of right now, Loot has not been renewed for Season 4 or cancelled at Apple TV+.
“We love doing this show. I come from the old sitcom world where we used to do seven seasons and 22 episodes, and that world is gone. But I always tried to build Loot when Alan and I created it for distance. It’s not like there’s some huge premise at the center of it, it’s about a job and a woman and her relationships and how she changes. So I do think there’s more stories to tell,” co-creator Matt Hubbard tells The Wrap.
“Apple has always been so supportive of us creatively, and have always been supportive of promoting the show. So we’re here when they want to do another season.”
The Season 3 finale episode “Hail Mary Time” leaves viewers with a major cliffhanger involving a wedding crash, a major guest star and an unexpected twist.
Apple TV doesn’t always announce renewals at the exact moment a show ends, so it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not happening.
Season 1 premiered in 2022, and because of the Hollywood strikes, Season 2 didn’t arrive until 2024. Season 3 also faced production delays because of Maya returning to Saturday Night Live amid the 2024 presidential election. Without any interruptions, and if the show is renewed, it could potentially return next year.
The show currently has an 83% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 61% audience score. The current season has a 100% score.
