Anderson Cooper is going to be co-hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve special alongside his friend Andy Cohen, and while watching, you might be wondering about his private life!
Specifically, the 58-year-old news anchor and CNN fan fave has been open about the fact that he is single and not currently dating anyone. In a recent interview, he explained why.

In a December 2025 interview on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, he said, “I’m not gonna [date], I’m not looking. I’m just trying to get through the day.”
When pressed further he said, “Who has the time? I got kids. I don’t know.” Andy then said he could still go for drinks and he in bed by 11, to which Anderson responded, “Yeah, but then I have to get a sitter and have somebody in and I don’t know.”
Anderson co-parents his sons Wyatt, 5, and Sebastian, 3, with his ex Benjamin Maisani.
The couple split in 2018, but Benjamin has since adopted both Wyatt and Sebastian, and the exes live together to raise the young boys.
By the sounds of it, that’s more than enough for Anderson: “This is the best time in my life. There is no doubt about it,” he told the outlet, adding, “I feel moments of such bliss, humor and gentleness and sheer delight that it stuns me.”
