Lars Eidinger is the latest star to join the cast of the new Superman movie!
On Saturday (December 20), director James Gunn announced that the 49-year-old German actor will be playing the role of the villain Brianiac in Man of Tomorrow.
“In our worldwide search for Brainiac in Man of Tomorrow, Lars Eidinger rose to the top. Welcome to the DCU, Lars,” James wrote on Instagram.
Keep reading to find out more…This is the first time Brianiac will be appearing on the big screen. The villain is a android that comes from the planet Colu, who is on a mission to collect all of the knowledge in the world. He’s also known for shrinking cities and destroying planets.
It was previously revealed that in Man of Tomorrow, Superman (played by David Corenswet) and Lex Luthor (played by Nicholas Hoult) will be teaming up to save the galaxy from a new threat.
Production for the new movie is scheduled to begin in April 2026 with a July 9, 2027 theatrical release.
