Former Coronation Street star Nikki Patel is piloting a loosely autobiographical comedy for BBC One, with The Patels focusing on two formidable, middle-aged British-Indian Gujarati women who hate each other, but whose lives are thrown into chaos when they receive an unexpected announcement from their sons.
