Snoop Dogg was originally scheduled to be hosting a New Year’s Eve special for NBC and Peacock this year, but the event was canceled.
NBC announced the special back in May 2025 during the network’s upfront event and billed Snoop Dogg’s New Year’s Eve as “a night packed with unforgettable music, iconic performances and surprise artist collaborations.”

Snoop‘s schedule got too busy and NBC announced the special’s cancellation on November 5, 2025. He will be hosting Olympics coverage in Italy in early 2026.
Snoop said in a statement, “Sometimes the calendar gets in the way of the celebration, which is why my NBC family and I decided this winter was time for us all to focus on the Olympics. But don’t worry, we’ll party together bigger and better later in 2026. Ya dig.”
Instead of the special, NBC will air a rerun of the Wicked: One Wonderful Night special at 8pm ET followed by the retrospective special A Toast to 2025! at 10:30pm ET.
