Nick Reiner made his first appearance in court today (December 17) amid the deaths of his parents, beloved actor/director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele.
The 32-year-old is being charged with two counts of first-degree murder, along with special circumstances alleging multiple murders and the use of a knife.
In court, his attorney Alan Jackson did not enter a plea for him. He was wearing suicide prevention attire, which can be seen in these courtroom sketches of him, and was behind glass.
He has an arraignment set for January 7, 2026. At one point, Nick did speak. He was asked by the judge if he’s okay waiving his right to a quick trial. He responded with “Yes, your honor,” according to CNN.
