The song was penned in 1981, and features Mick Jones performing the lead vocals on the song, which is featured on their Combat Rock album.
It would eventually become their first and only No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart.
Now, it’s seemingly having another moment on TikTok.
The track was a favorite of Jonathan and Will Byers on the show: Jonathan put it on a mixtape, giving it to his younger brother. While trying to reach out to his mom later on in the series, Will manipulated the cassette player in his room, which started to play the song.
Eleven would also transmit the sound via radio, and he could be hear singing it. He also sang the lyrics in Castle Byers, right before being captured by the Monster. A year later, after Will gets possessed by the Mind Flayer, Jonathan played the mixtape with his mom and Mike.
In the TikTok trend set to the song, users stand in front of the creature while lip syncing along to the track.
