You might notice an interesting new feature on Instagram today if you browse through Selena Gomez‘s stories.
Selena‘s Instagram Stories bubble is currently highlighted with a yellow ring around the circle, which we’ve never seen before on the app. As you probably know, there’s a “Close Friends” feature that will highlight a story with a green ring.
Now, the yellow ring notes a message from a “Secret Friend.”

It appears that this is a promotional tool to create buzz for the new Friends Keep Secrets podcast, hosted by Selena‘s husband Benny Blanco and his friends Lil Dicky and Kristin.
It does not seem like the Secret Friends feature will roll out to other users and it might just be a limited thing to promote the podcast. All of Selena‘s followers can see the post though.
“Hey guys, welcome to my Secret Friends. If you want more secrets, go here,” Selena said while pointing to a tag leading to the Friends Keep Secrets podcast page.
The pilot episode of the podcast was released last week.
Here’s the description on YouTube: “We’ve been writing this description for 15 minutes and haven’t made any real progress. It’s not even we, it’s just Dave here.
