Kumail Nanjiani is addressing the wild rumor about him and Michelle Obama.
Last year, there was a bizarre theory circulating online that the 47-year-old actor/comedian was having an affair with the 61-year-old former First Lady.
While appearing on the December 25 episode of So True With Caleb Hearon, Kumail reacted to the rumor.
Keep reading to find out more…“There was a rumor going around last year that I was having an affair with Michelle Obama,” Kumail began. “I know, I was so excited.”
According to Kumail, he didn’t know about the rumor until just recently, when someone mentioned it to his wife Emily V. Gordon.
“‘Hey, so, I heard that Kumail and Michelle Obama are, like, doing it,’” Kumail recalled the person saying to his wife. “And she wasn’t even upset.”
He then set the record straight, making it very clear that he was not having an affair with Michelle.
“I’ve never met Michelle Obama,” Kumail noted.
He and Caleb then talked how Jennifer Aniston also recently shut down rumors that she was romantically involved with Barack Obama.
“What do we think? We think it’s real?” Kumail deadpanned.
Caleb then said, “What I’m saying is, for my friend Kumail, you’re up there with Jennifer Aniston.”
Kumail, however, joked that Michelle and Barack, 64, can do better than him and Jennifer.
“I think Michelle’s slumming it. And to be honest, no shade to Jen, Barack’s slumming it too,” Kumail teased. “Michelle Obama is a very high bar to clear. And I love Jennifer Aniston, I’m genuinely a huge fan.”
