“I love Miss Dionne so much,” Teyana told the talk show host.
She also pointed out that both she and the “Walk On By” singer are “Sags,” referring to their shared Sagittarius zodiac sign. Their birthdays are just days apart, with Teyana’s on December 10 and Dionne’s on December 12.
Teyana said they’ve been developing the project for a while now, adding that she’s very “overprotective” of Dionne’s story and wants to “make sure everything is right.”
She explained that they’re also trying to figure out how to fit the six-time Grammy-winning artist’s storied career into a two-hour movie, noting that the biopic could potentially become a television series instead.
Ultimately, Teyana said she wants to be “very careful” with the story, noting that it can get “wicked out here,” and emphasized her goal of telling the best story possible with care and consideration.
