Kit Harington Points Out a Funny ‘Harry Potter’ Plot Hole

Kit Harington is reflecting on an amusing perceived plot hole from the Harry Potter series.

The 38-year-old Game of Thrones alum is a big fan of the magical universe created by J.K. Rowling and recently joined it himself as the voice of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Gilderoy Lockhart for Audible’s recording of Chamber of Secrets.

While chatting with Variety about the books, Kit revealed that while reading Goblet of Fire, he couldn’t help but notice how strange the Triwizard Tournament actually was in its execution.

“It’s good and it’s got a great ending. I have some questions about the plot holes during the tournament,” Kit said. “It’s not a great tournament to watch, is it? Other than the dragon one, they don’t get to see underwater and they can’t see in the maze, so I don’t see what’s in it for the rest of the school?”

He’s referring to the tournament’s three tasks, which begin with contestants attempting to evade a massive dragon, followed by challenges that take place underwater in Hogwarts’ lake and inside a maze shielded by towering hedges.

Kit’s comments echo questions longtime Harry Potter fans have raised in the past, as it would be difficult for spectators to see much of the action.

Audible released its first recording of Sorcerer’s Stone last month, with Chamber of Secrets arriving on December 16. The third book recording, Prisoner of Azkaban, is set to be released on January 13.

The cast list for the entire Audible series has been list and includes many popular stars playing iconic characters!
