Michelle Obama is opening up about her connection to the late Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Reiner, following the horrific news of their family tragedy.
The former First Lady made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night (December 15), where she revealed some upsetting news.

“We’ve known them for many, many years and were supposed to be seeing them that night — last night,” Michelle told Jimmy Kimmel, revealing she and Barack Obama had plans with the couple the weekend they were killed.
“And we got the news,” she went on to say.
“Let me just say this: unlike some people, Rob and Michele Reiner are some of the most decent, courageous people you ever wanna know. They are not deranged or crazed, what they have always been are passionate people,” she went on to say, referencing President Donald Trump‘s widely criticized response to the deaths.
“In a time when there’s not a lot of courage going on, they were the kind of people who were ready to put their actions behind what they cared about. And they cared about their family and they cared about this country and they cared about fairness and equity. And that is the truth; I do know them.” Watch above.
The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that Nick Reiner, the son of Rob and Michele Reiner, has been booked for murder.
